917,292. Rail pads. SPENCER, MOULTON & CO. Ltd., GEORGE. March 29, 1961 [March 29, 1960], No. 11056/60. Addition to 860, 209. Class 104 (2). In a rail pad of resilient material with grooves of trough-like cross-section, each groove being radiused between the side wall and the base as in the parent Specification, edge abrasion is reduced by arranging narrow lands between the outermost grooves and the edges of the pad and wider lands in the centre of the pad. The grooves which are parallel to one another, may be straight or sinuous. The grooves 2 on one surface of the pad may be staggered in relation to those 1 on the opposite face, as shown in Fig. 2. The grooves may be wider than they are deep.
