916,615. Radial flow turbines. PRVNI BRNENSKA STROJIRNA ZAVODY KLEMENTA GOTTWALDA NARODNI PODNIK. Dec. 23, 1959, No. 43770/59. Class 110 (3). In a method for the control of radial-flow turbines with fixed guide blades, the distance between the side walls of the distribution passages is continuously variable axially, the side walls being movable by an equal amount. The device for performing this method comprises two rings 4, 5 forming the side walls rotatably mounted in the turbine casing 1 and controlled by a worm 11 meshing with a wormwheel 12 attached to the ring 5. Cavities in the ring 5 receive the guide blades 3 which are fixed to the opposite ring. By rotating the worm 11, the ring 5 is rotated and the guide blades carry along the ring 4. The rings are screwed into the casing with threads of opposite hand so that when rotated they move in opposite directions axially.
