Abstract
915,902. Indicating and recording apparatus. CAMBRIDGE INSTRUMENT CO. Ltd. Aug. 25, 1961 [Oct. 3, 1960], No. 33885/60. Class 106 (4). Apparatus in which a variety of variables are measured successively at intervals comprises a series of scales, each appropriate to a different variable, automatically exposed in succession for a fixed period for association with a pointer b to indicate during each period the value of one of the variables. A synchronous motor r drives Geneva mechanism e, f, to turn cams g, spindle i and roller c each through a partial revolution at intervals of say six seconds. The cams operate switches h to select in succession the variables to be measured. As soon as each is selected, a motor drives the head a and pointer b to a position corresponding with the value of the selected variable. This value is indicated by the pointer b against the appropriate scale on the roller c which appears through a window 8 and is recorded in appropriate colour by that pen q which has been turned into operative position by bevel gears n, o of which n is carried by a sleeve m keyed to turn with the spindle i. The roller c may be hexagonal.
