Abstract

914,856. Endless conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. April 6, 1961 [Jan. 9, 1960], No. 844/60. Class 78 (1). Each track element 10 of an endless chain conveyer is supported at intervals along its length from supporting brackets 13 through which pass bolts 17. The axis of the holes 15 for the bolts is preferably inclined at the same inclination as that of the bolt shank when the nut 20 is tightened. Tightening the nut draws the bolt head upwardly and outwardly, thus wedging the flange 11 into tight engagement with the adjacent face of the portion 16 of the bracket 13. Openings 24 are for securing the bracket to a member such as a roof girder. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the bolt has an unthreaded shank portion and is directed inwardly; the nut has wedge engagement with the flange of the track element. The invention is also applicable to securing a longitudinal extending framework carrying idler rollers of an endless belt conveyer, to supporting members.
