Abstract

A mineral oil is added to a solution of a polybutadiene having a molecular weight in excess of 200,000 and cis.-1,4-enchainment and the solvent removed. The mineral oil may be added at the end of polymerization in hydrocarbon solution in the presence of a compound of a Group VIII metal and an organometallic halide. The mineral oil may be an aromatic oil a benzenic or a naphthenic oil and may be added in amount between 35 and 40 parts per 100 of polymer.
