T h e bonnet or boot lid 4 of a vehicle is provided with a downturned edge 4<SP>1</SP> which obscures the upper edge of the flat end panel 2 from view. The side edges of the panel 4 are preferably parallel to the side edges of the wings where the panel does not extend over the full width of the vehicle but where the panel does so extend it preferably makes a parallel joint with the lower panels which form the wings.
