911,736. Electric branding tools. ARRASTUA, A. R. Nov. 29, 1960, No. 40966/60. Class 39 (3). The resistance branding element 8, e.g., of nickel-chrome, of an electric cattle brander, is supported by threaded terminals 10 passing through insulating bushings 18 in a supportplate 7 provided with insulating laminations 17. The element 8 is spaced from the lower lamination 17 by rods 20 and is secured in position by nuts 19 on the terminals 10. The assembly is removably secured by a screw 9 in a channel 6 of a supporting case 4 attached to a handle 1 provided with a grip 2. Leads 12, 12<SP>1</SP> connect the terminals 10 to a battery 13 through a relay 14 connected by leads 15 to a press-button switch 16 on the handle 1. The element 8 has the shape of the sign to be branded and is provided with grooves 8<SP>1</SP> to prevent slipping.
