Window panels 10, 11 are slidably mounted in a hollow frame 12 and are each connected through a stud 9 to a flexible rack 13 which extends along part of the side and bottom of the frame in a channel-shaped guide 15, and which has teeth at its lower end engaging, through a bevel gear, a worm gear operated by a handle 28.
