Abstract
911,100. Toys. YUAN, S. Y. July 25, 1961 No. 26940/61. Class 132 (3). The invention consists of a method of making an artificial bird or the like and an artificial bird or the like having a prefabricated main body which has one or more prefabricated members each constituting a foundation for an end part of the body mounted on the main body, the assembled main body and member or members having limbs attached thereto and an adhesively attached decorative outer coating. The flexible hollow body portion 1 has a neck portion 2 on which is adjustably positioned a hollow skull portion 7 and a tail portion 3 which is slit to anchor tail feathers 18. The skull portion and tail feathers are glued in position. Each leg member 11 is moulded on a wire, the end part 14 of which passes through an aperture 4 to the inside of the body portion, then out through a central aperture 6 and in through an aperture 5. The feet have an end wire part 15 which is used for supporting the bird. The body and skull portions and the top of the leg members are covared with paste and cotton. Wing feathers 19 and eyes 20 are pasted thereon and separate pieces of coloured cotton. The beak may be integral with the skull portion or may fit into a recess and have paste and cotton applied thereto. The connections between the limbs and body portion may be plugs and sockets, adhesive or tape.
