Apparatus for filling containers from a common discharge point 21 comprising a turntable 14 on which the containers are disposed in a plurality of rows forming a spiral round a common axis with the same linear centre to centre distance between the containers in every row as described in the parent Specification is modified by the provision of a spindle for the turntable which has its bearing 22 with foot 23 arranged to slide in horizontal guides 24 disposed on a support 25. Discs 11 support the containers 15 and as the turntable is revolved by gear wheel 17 it also slides laterally so that each container is brought beneath the discharge point. The turntable may be supported by pads 26 and 27 of polytetrafluoroethylene, a third one of which may be disposed so that the gear wheel protrudes through a slot therein. Alternatively rollers may be used. The last two holes in which the gear wheel engages have a slot formed between them so that the gear rotates without turning the turntable further. The last container may have a wide mouth and means for catching any overflow therefrom may be provided. The discs 11 and turntable 14 are made to be removable as a unit.
