A book adapted to teach a child how to manipulate fastenings such as occur on his clothes comprises a front cover AF and back cover F adapted to be fastened together by a button and loop, and two sets of pages bound to the opposite edges of the back cover, e.g. by stitching, and arranged in pairs A1A2, B1B2, C1C2, adapted to be fastened together by two buttons and buttonholes, press-studs, and a shoe-lace E, passing through apertures formed in the adjoining edges of the pages C1, C2, respectively. The book covers and pages are made of highly coloured felts.
