Abstract

908,260. Concrete slabs; coal bunkers. GLOUCESTER STONE CO. Ltd., and HOLYOAKE, M. C. July 1, 1959 [July 31, 1958], No. 24667/58. Classes 20 (1) and 87 (1). An elongated concrete slab 1 is rebated at each end, the surface 3 of each rebate being inclined with respect to the longitudinal and transverse dimensions of the slab. The ends of slabs 1, 2 arranged at right angles to each other may be interlocked and connected by metal rods 8 passing through vertically aligned holes in the end projections adjacent the rebates. In a modification the rods are omitted and the hori- zontal edges of the slabs are formed with complementary tongues and grooves of half-round, V or other form. In a coal bunker, Fig. 4, formed of interlocked slabs 1, 2, an opening 9 at the base of one side is formed by omitting two slabs 2 and replacing them by units 10, 11 supporting a baffle plate 15. A concrete cover 16 with an opening covered by a slidable lid 17 also is provided.
