Abstract

907,983. Chain tensioners. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. July 15, 1959 [May 1, 1958], No. 13837/58. Class 80 (1). A chain 3 is tensioned by a bowed resilient strip 5 having a contact pad 7. The ends of the strip 5 are mounted upon a rod 17 between a collar 19 and a block 15 into which the rod 17 is screwed. Rotation of the rod 17 by means of a cap 21 from outside the casing 1 moves the block 15 towards or away from the collar 19 to increase or decrease the tension of the strip 5.
