Abstract

906,740. Variable resistors. DALE PRODUCTS Inc. July 6, 1960, No. 23689/60. Class 37. A variable resistor comprising a wire wound rod 12, Fig. 2, is housed in an insulating housing 10, the wiper arm 28 being moved along the length of the rod by a screw 20 parallel to the resistance element. The wiper arm 28, Fig. 4, also slides on a contact plate 18. The electrical connections to the resistor are made by three leads 16, 17, 19 which may be brought out through the bottom of the housing, Fig. 1, or through the end, Fig. 7 (not shown). To stop foreign matter entering the housing the extension of the screw is sealed to the housing by an 0 ring.
