Abstract

904,365. Colour photographic methods. KODAK Ltd. Sept. 11, 1958 [May 9, 1958], No. 18310/62. Divided out of 904,364. Class 98 (2). A material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a non-diffusing colour coupler is exposed, developed in a solution containing a primary aromatic amino developing agent having an alkali-solubilizing group, and brought into contact with a receiving layer during or after development whereby a diffusible dye containing the solubilizing group is transferred imagewise to such layer. An example is of multilayer procedure and describes a film of the pattern of the example of the original Specification 904,364, having the greensensitive layer lowermost but using 1-[p-(p<SP>1</SP>- tert. butylphenoxy) - phenyl] - 3 - [p - tert. butylphenoxy) propionylamino] - 5 - pyrazolone, 1- hydroxy - 2 - [# - (2<SP>1</SP> : 4<SP>1</SP> - di - tert. amylphenoxyn-butyl] naphthamide and N-(p-benzoylacetaminobenzenesulphonyl) - N - (γ - phenyl - propyl) (o), (m) or (p) toluidine as the successive couplers, and having the same n-octadecyl hydroquinone containing interlayers; this film is exposed to a multicolour negative transparency and transfer-processed using 4-amino-N-ethyl-3- methyl - N(# - sulphoethyl) aniline in the developer to form a colour print after separation of the receiving layer. Eight further couplers and nine further developers for the purpose are listed. Adaptations of the procedure follow the pattern of those of the original invention.
