Abstract

903,036. Decorative or camouflage material. MAYER, H.-L., [trading as MARKMANN & CO., ALBERT]. Aug. 5, 1959, No. 26826/59. Class 93. Decorative or camouflage material is produced by providing an initially planesurfaced relatively thin and flimsy sheet with incisions such that the ends of each incision lead into areas enclosed by other incisions, the material assuming a three - dimensional form under tension. The material may simulate foliage and may be formed from a sheet of synthetic resin or of woven textile material. The material may be rendered non-inflammable by embedding the woven fabric in a non- inflammable composition, e.g. comprising metal oxides and chlorinated organic substances, by application to both sides of the material to fill in the fabric meshes. As shown, a woven taffeta or calico fabric is provided with incisions and hung from a cord 5. Opposite sides of the fabric may be dyed differently. The metal oxide may be antimony or titanium oxide and the chlorinated organic substance chloroparaffin, polyvinyl chloride, or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride.
