Abstract
902,167. Machine details. T.I. (GROUP SERVICES) Ltd. Nov. 14, 1960 [Nov. 4. 1959], No. 37382/59. Class 83 (3). A machine for deburring the ends of tubes comprises a notched tool 10 mounted on a holder 12 laterally slidable on balls 15, 16, in a head 14 rotatable by a pulley 19, the head being secured to a sleeve 17 connected to a spring-urged bell-crank lever, one arm 21 of which is connected to a pin 20 on the tube, and a roller 24 on the other arm 22, is engaged with a wedge 25 movable by an air, or hydraulic cylinder 26. In operation, the tube end is engaged by notch 11 until a stop 31 engages the end of the work, and the head 14 is rotated. Spring 23 pivots the bell-crank lever to hold the tool against the work, and the tool follows the periphery of the work. The tool is retracted by moving wedge 25 to pivot the bellcrank lever in the opposite direction. In a modification, holder 27, Fig. 4, is slidably mounted in a plate 28, slidable in a rotating head 32, the tool 10 being urged towards the work by a spring 30.
