Abstract

900,466. Loading aircraft. WHITWORTH GLOSTER AIRCRAFT Ltd. June 21, 1960 [June 27, 1959], No. 22154/59. Class 78 (4). An aircraft has a longitudinal compartment 2 (Fig. 1), with fore and aft loading doors and with a track extending from one end of the compartment to the other to support and guide pallets. The track may be formed of detachable sections of roller way and a roller way bridge 8 (Fig. 3), may be provided for connection between the aircraft and a road vehicle 6. Guide members 18 (Fig. 5), preferably engage brackets 20 on the pallets 10 to secure them, and end stops 21 (Fig. 6), may be carried by longitudinal hinges 24 so that they can be folded down when the pallets are to be removed. The rollerway sections may be constructed as in Specification 900,467.
