Abstract
900,096. Telephoto lenses. AGFA A.G. Nov. 3, 1958 [Nov. 5, 1957], No. 35280/58. Class 97(1). A telephoto objective of relative aperture at least f/2.8 consists of two positive meniscus simple components followed by a meniscus negative doublet and a rear positive meniscus doublet concave towards the rear wherein (a) 0.25 L < R 7 < 0.50 L, where L is the axial length of the objective; (b) 2.5 R 7 < R 5 < 4 R 7 ; (c) 8 R 7 < (R 6 ) < 8 R 5 ; (d) 0.10 f < (d 3 +d 4 ) < 0.20 f; and (e) 0.17 f < l 3 < 0.25 f, where f is the objective focal length. Preferably, the thickness of the rear component is greater than the thickness of the front simple component and less than 0.2 f. Optical data are given for three examples of the objective shown.
