Abstract

899,738. Mounting terminals. METOX (S. A R.L.). Aug. 27, 1958 [Aug. 30, 1957], No. 27476/58. Class 38 (1). A fluid-tight entry device, which allows the passage of an electrical conductor 1 through the wall 6 of a transformer tank, and which is insulated therefrom, comprises a cylindrical insulating piece 2 of polytetrafluorethylene held in an external metal body 3, a resilient element 4, placed between bodies 2, 3 and a resilient element 5 placed between metallic collar 1b and seating 2b of the insulating material, the resilient elements, which may be of silicon rubber, being compressed on assembly so that they compensate for any change of dimensions of the plastic and metallic parts thus maintaining the fluid-tightness of the assembly. Metal part 3 may be fastened to wall 6 by soldering, welding, fitting or screwing. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the conductor is replaced by a hollow rivet to which conductors may be soldered and in a further embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the plastic body is enlarged to hold several conductors.
