Abstract

897,039. Moulding elongated concrete bodies. MENZEL, K-H., and MENZEL, M. April 20, 1960, No. 13758 60. Class 87(2). Apparatus for moulding elongated concrete bodies comprises a horizontial, longitudinally split mould 1 and a co-operating frame 5 arranged so that longitudinal differential movement of the mould and frame closes the normally open mould. If the mould is tapered its surface may co-operate with clamps 2 (Fig. 2) or in the case of a parallel mould wedges 3 may be used (Fig. 5). The mould is filled through an opening 6 and the mould and frame may be in separate sections allowing for extension. End plates 7, 8 are provided for holding reinforcing rods and a core 14 for hollow sections may be provided. The mould may be vibrated and rocked about its axis, Fig. 7 and 8 (not shown).
