[Also in Group XL(b)] A narrow-band interference filter for use in the infra-red comprises a central layer of mica having on each side a layer of germanium followed by one of cryolite and then another of germanium. The two pairs of outer layers are #/4 thick (e.g. 0.6Á) and the central layer 40Á thick.
