Abstract
895,348. Filters; systems of filtration. DE STAAT DER NEDERLANDEN. Sept. 12, 1958 [Sept. 12, 1957], No. 29308/58. Class 46. [Also in Groups XXI and XXVIII] A method of collecting and storing the solid matter, resulting from a dredging operation, by pumping the fluid and solids into a bag formed of a finely woven plastic fabric, from which only the fluid escapes. The method is particularly intended for use underwater. Fig. 3 shows a bag 2 folded over a delivery pipe 7 so that as the solid matter 1 accumulates the bag is pulled over the sealing disc 8. In a modification, Fig. 10, the filter comprises two bags 18 and a connecting web 19 and Fig. 6 shows an arrangement for filling such a device. Each bag 18 is originally folded on to a nozzle 21 which is fed from a pipe 45. There is also a centre nozzle 20 through which dredgings are pumped into the space beneath the centre web 19, which is extended by a piece 25 that is turned back under the nozzle to form a bag.
