Abstract

<PICT:0893847/III/1> In a hydrogen-cooled turbo-generator 11 having a water-cooled stator winding, the water is cleared of any dissolved hydrogen that it may have acquired during its passage through the machine by setting it under pressure of inert gas, e.g. nitrogen in a reservoir 16, instead of subjecting it to a vacuum as is usual. Thereafter, the water is passed by a pump 17 through a filter 18 and cooler 19 and is returned to the machine.
