Abstract

892,414. Photographic printing. LOGETRONICS Inc. June 13, 1958 [June 17, 1957], No. 18996/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2). [Also in Group XL(b)] A photographic printing process of the type in which a travelling light spot produced on a cathode ray tube passes through the negative and printing paper and is received on a photoelectric cell to maintain the intensity of the spot incident on the cell constant partial dodging is produced by reducing the feedback signal from the cells of the cathode ray electrode so that the spot is not maintained completely constant by controlling spot intensity for part of the printing period only allowing it to be constant for the rest or by inserting a diffusing plate part way into the light path between the tube and the negative so that the negative receives diffused overall illumination as well as the varying printing spot. In all cases a further photo-cell receiving light which has passed through the printing paper and, negative feeds an integrating circuit to terminate the printing after a desired exposure while in the case of the second method above the circuit may control the instant at which the variation of spot intensity ceases.
