[Also in Group XXIX] A shower pipe 76, Fig. 5, for use in the papermaking industry is reciprocated in bearings 78 by the rod 18 of a liquid-pressure engine (see Group XXIX) supplied with water or other liquid from a pipe 32. A more rigid construction of engine may be used to reciprocate a doctor 102, Fig. 4, which is bolted to a bracket 98 integral with the rod 96 of the engine, the side of the doctor remote from the rod being supported in bearings.
