Abstract

Mono-percarboxylic acids are prepared by reacting carboxylic acid anhydrides with hydrogen peroxide of at least 80% by weight concentration in the presence of an amine oxide. A solvent may be used. In examples mono-per-maleic and mono-per-phthalic acids are prepared.
