891,081. Wire fabrics. KLOECKNERWERKE A.G. March 24, 1960, No. 10565/60. Class 83 (2). Reinforcing mats for concrete are made by cold twisting to a pitch of 3 to 12 times their diameter rods or wires of steel containing 0.03% to 0.25% C. Thomas steel, Siemens- Martin steel or a steel with low N. and P. contents may be used, e.g. one having 0.06% C., 0.3% Mn, 0.05% P, 0.029% S and 0.012% N. The rods or wires may be roughened or provided with prominances or depressions and/or joined, as by welding, at their crossing points. Lightly carburized Thomas rimming-steel may be used.
