890,921. Vehicle bodies; vehicle sliding doors; luggage racks. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. July 31, 1959 [Aug. 4, 1958], No. 26310/59. Classes 103(2) and 108(1). A passenger motor vehicle body has a sliding door 10 on each side connected by a parallelogram linkage 11 to the body and having stowage spaces 21, 22 formed therein, the door 'opening conforming to part of a circle of diameter equal to 2/3R where R is the wheelbase, and is also provided with a flat or slightly domed load supporting roof 1 and removable seats, the floor pan being covered when a seat or the seats are removed by rubber link mats or a panel or panels of metal or plastic. If necessary all the seats may be removed and replaced by panels when the car is stationary. Overhangs 2 of the roof which may be raised from the roof and also extend transversely thereof are provided with holes, sleeves, eyes or the like serving to support rods 27, 33, and or transverse members 28 which may 'support tents or verandah structures or form part of covered, load spaces. The body has luggage compartments at both ends defined partly by floors 17, 18, and stowage shelves 19, 20 are also provided.
