890,484. Resilient mountings. AVIATION, MINISTER OF. Oct. 12, 1960 [Oct. 12, 1959], No. 34489/59. Class 108(3). [Also in Group XVII] A shock absorbing packing comprises a plurality of gas-filled cushions I, Fig. 2, carried in spaced relationship by perforated plates 2 and protruding on opposite sides to engage between an article to be transported and the walls of the carrying case. The cushions are preferably spherical and free to roll in the perforations and may be of rubber or poly-vinyl-chloride arranged in layers and inflated at different pressures for varying the characteristics. The plates 2 are connected together by rubber or plastic spacers 4 having ends 5 which are sprung into perforations 6 of the plates 2.
