Abstract
884,531. Lining cylinders of piston-andcylinder devices. SCHLEPPERWERK NORDHAUSEN VEB. Feb. 24, 1959 [Dec. 22, 1958], No. 6313/59. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups XXII and XXVI] The metal cylinder 3 of a piston - and - cylinder device is provided with a working surface in the form of a layer 6, Fig. 2, of synthetic resin, such as an epoxy resin. The synthetic resin is first poured into the cylinder and then displaced up the cylinder wall by inserting a smooth-surfaced core which is centralized at its upper and lower ends-; a layer of silicon oil emulsion on the core prevents adherence with the cylinder. Closure plugs prevent escape of the synthetic resin through the inlet and outlet pipe connections of the cylinder and these connections are undercut to key with the moulded layer.
