Abstract

883,395. Conveying solids in liquid. PARTRIDGE, DAVIS & CO. Ltd. March 26, 1958 [Jan. 8, 1957], No. 657/67. Class 102(2). A furnace installation includes an ash removal plant comprising spaced troughs 12, into which ash is deposited, connected by U-shaped conduits 15, one end trough being connected to a water reservoir 22 and the other end trough being connected to a separating tank 25 having an endless belt conveyer for the solid material. Air is introduced into the reservoir 22 and in overlapping succession to the conduits 15 to impart impulses to the water to convey the ash to the tank 25. Water is returned from the tank 25 to the reservoir by a pipe 23.
