Class 100(2) [Also in Group XIX] In recording-apparatus in which a recording- arm 4, moved in accordance with a variable, presses an ink ribbon 2 against a record strip I where they pass over a support to impress a trace on the strip 1, the strip 1 is heated to fix the trace thereon. The heat may be applied by an infra red radiator preferably having a reflector screen and lying across the path of the strip after the recording station (Fig. 1, not shown). Alternatively, after leaving the recording station, the strip 1 may pass between electrically heated upper and lower sleeves 7a, 7, Fig. 2. The recording edge 13 may be itself electrically heated, at least partially to fix the trace and may be used with or without subsequent heaters in the forms already described or in the form of heated rollers.
