Abstract

880,508. Shoring trenches. BODENSTEIN, J. Feb. 12, 1960 [Feb. 14, 1959], No. 5071/60. Class 20(2) [Also in Group XXV] A telescopic strut for shoring trenches comprises members 7, 8 adjustably connected by a nut 9 which is screwthreaded on the member 8 and is provided with a handle 19 and an extension 10 having opposed slots to receive a U- shaped retaining yoke 18 adapted to co-operate with a flange 16 on the member 7. Each member 7, 8 carries an apertured U-shaped member such as 11 whereby the strut may be pivotally connected to vertical channel-shaped supports having horizontal planks bolted thereto.
