Abstract
The invention comprises phosphoric and thionophosphoric acid ester amides of formula <FORM:0880297/IV (b)/1> where R is C1-4 alkyl, R1 is hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, X is <FORM:0880297/IV (b)/2> where R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, Y has the same meaning as X or is C1-4 alkoxy and Z is oxygen or sulphur. They are prepared by reacting an alkylmercaptophenylphosphoric or -thionophosphoric acid dichloride <FORM:0880297/IV (b)/3> with ammonia, an alkylamine or a dialkylamine, or with an alcohol in the presence of an acid binding agent to give the corresponding monochloro-monoalkoxy compound which is subsequently reacted with ammonia, an alkylamine or a dialkylamine or the dichloride may be reacted with equivalent amounts of an alcohol and of ammonia or an amine to give a monoamide. The products have insecticidal activity (see Group VI).ALSO:Insecticidal compositions comprise a phosphoric or thionophosphoric acid ester amide of formula <FORM:0880297/VI/1> where R is C1-4 alkyl, R1 is hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, X is <FORM:0880297/VI/2> where R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, Y has the same meaning as X or is C1-4 alkoxy, and Z is oxygen or sulphur. Conventional solid and liquid carriers may be used, particularly aqueous dilutions in combination with an emulsifier and auxiliary solvent (specifically dimethylformamide).
