Class 52(4) A spring assembly is formed by a plurality of planar spring units 10 interconnected by the tie strips 78 held by rivets 40, 80. The main spring has a horizontal central portion 17 with substantially V-shaped members 22, 32 connecting it with the frame, the central part 17 and front V22 being connected by an upwardly inclined bight 18. The secondary spring also has a central portion 38 with a front V 46 in contact with that of the main spring over a substantial length and a rear V 60 in contact with that of the main spring only along the lower limb. The stabilizing spring 16 has an upper and lower rearwardly extending limb with a single bend 70. The springs are riveted together at 40, 50, 64.
