Abstract
Metal-bearing liquids are formed by reacting a halogen acid of platinum, specifically chloroplatinic acid, with di-iso-propyl ether. In an example, a complex of empirical formula [(C3H7)2O]2.H2PtCl6 is first formed and then concentrated in the presence of nitric acid to give a complex of empirical formula (C3H7)2O.PtCl4.
