Abstract
6-Amino-4-oxo-3:4-dihydro- (benzo-1:2:3-benzotriazines) of formula <FORM:0878741/IV (b)/1> wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl or cyclohexyl radical, are prepared by reacting 5-nitro-2-(N-carboxyamino)-benzene- 1-carboxylic acid anhydride with ammonia or a primary amine to give a 5-nitro-2-amino-benzoic acid amide, reacting this with nitric acid to give the corresponding 6-nitro-4-oxo-3:4-dihydro-(benzo-1:2:3-triazine) and reducing the nitro group. 6-amino-4-oxo-3:4-dihydro-(benzo-1:2:3-triazine) and 3-methylorethyl- orcyclohexyl-6-amino-4-oxo-3:4-dihydro-(benzo -1:2:3-triazines) are specified.ALSO:The invention comprises water-insoluble monoazo dyestuffs of formula:- <FORM:0878741/IV(c)/1> wherein R is hydrogen a C1-C4 alkyl or a cyclohexyl radical and R1 is the radical of a coupling component free from sulphonic and carboxylic acid groups. They are prepared by diazotizing a suitable 6-amino- 4-oxo- 3 : 4-dihydro-(benzo- 1 : 2 : 3-triazine) and coupling with an azo component free from sulphonic and carboxylic acid groups. The dyestuffs are used to colour lacquers and plastic foils and in the printing and dyeing of cellulose acetate, polyester, polyamide, polyurethane and polyacrylonitrile fibres in yellow, red and blue shades. In an example 3-methyl- 6-amino-4-oxo- 3 : 4-dihydro-(benzo-1 : 2 : 3-triazine) is diazotized and coupled in acetic acid with 1-(21 : 31-hydroxynaphthoylamino)- 4-methoxybenzene. Further diazo components specified in examples are 3-ethyl- or -cyclohexyl-6-amino- 4-oxo- 3 : 4-dihydro-(benzo-1 : 2 : 3-triazine) and coupling components such as phenols, di- N-substituted anilines, 2 : 3-hydroxynaphthoylaminobenzenes, pyrazolones, indoles and benzoquinolines.
