Abstract

878,323. Fishing sinkers. BARON, C. July 7, 1958 [July 6, 1957; Feb. 18, 1958], No. 21701/58. Class 48. A sinker comprises an outer member 1 having a tapering bore 2 and a slot 3 through which the fishing line is passed into the bore 2, and a tapered core member 4 having a central bore 5 and adapted to fit frictionally in the tapering bore 2 of the outer member 1. The fishing line is either jammed between the core 4 and the outer member 1 or passes through the central bore 5 of the core 4. The core 4 may have a slot extending from the outside to the central bore and a longitudinal key adapted to engage in the slot 3 of the outer member. The core and the bore 2 of the outer member may be of elliptical crosssection. The slots in the core and outer member may be helical.
