Abstract

878,302. Coils for dynamo-electric machines. DUNKER, C., and ALEXANDER, K. Oct. 29, 1957 [Nov. 12, 1956], No. 33742/57. Class 35. A coreless rotor is made by pressing flat round coils into rectangular shape, then assembling them to form a thin hollow cylinder, the coils being united by plastic material applied under pressure. Coils as shown in Fig. 2 are arranged in annular formation and connected to commutator segments, as shown in Fig. 4, and are then placed in a mould to compress the coils and embed the wires in plastic. Apparatus with slides for pressing the coils into rectangular shape is described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown).
