877,064. Weighing apparatus. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. March 3, 1960 [April 1, 1959], No. 11136/59. Class 143 [Also in Groups XI and XL(a)] A balance 1 has one of its conventional pans removed and replaced by a stainless steel rod 4 to which is connected a silica rod 8 supporting a silica balance pan 7. The pan 12 is counterbalanced by a cylinder 10 filled with lead shot 11. Hot air deflecting baffles 9 are brazed to the rod 4.
