Abstract

A plaster compositions for providing terrazzo-type finish to walls, floors and like surfaces comprises 80%-95% by weight of an aggregate of stone, particles having a size too great to pass a sieve with 35 apertures per inch and 5%-20% of an aqueous emulsion of polyvinyl acetate. Preferably the maximum particle size of the aggregate is 3/16 inch. The polyvinyl acetate emulsion may contain a minor proportion of plasticizer, e.g. butyl phthalate, and may contain xylenes as emulsifying agents. The plaster may be applied over an undercoating according to Specification 876,713.
