Abstract
876,706. Saw holding cramps. DUNFORD, W. E. June 13, 1960 [March 16, 1959], No. 8979/59. Class 61. A saw holding cramp comprises a body 1 adapted to be anchored to a bench or the like by a G-cramp 2 and having an upwardly directed forked upper portion 1 the limbs of which have seatings for supporting a pair of clamping blocks accommodated in sideby-side relationship in the space between the limbs and provision whereby the blocks can be caused to maintain clamping pressure on a saw blade inserted between them. As shown in Fig. 1 the body comprises a plate 1 vertically slotted from the top, the triangular corners of the limbs 6 being bent to stand out at right angles thereto and serve as seatings 7 for wedge section blocks inserted into the V-shaped space between the seatings. In a modification, Fig. 3, the body is of flat bar form, the upper portion thereof comprising limbs 12, 13 connected by a base 14. The limbs 12, 13 carry horizontal ledges 15 which form seatings for rectangular section blocks. The limb 12 is fitted with a clamping screw 18 arranged to bear on one of the blocks.
