Abstract

879,633. Ice making. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Dec. 11, 1959 [Jan. 8, 1959], No. 42175/59. Addition to 798,433. Class 29 The transverse walls 44 of the ice-tray of the parent Specification are extended above the rim 37 of the tray so that, when the tray rests inverted with its rim on supports formed on the side-walls of an ice-receiving receptacle, 65, the extensions of the transverse walls lie between abutments 71 formed in the supports and, when the receptacle cover 72 is swung down, a bar 77 thereon engages the inclined end 34 of the tray to move it along the supports so that the abutments 71 move the walls 44 to upright position to free the iceblocks which fall into the receptacle. The spacing of the abutments is greater than that of the walls 44 so that the latter are moved in succession to free the blocks in succession.
