Class 20(4) A fabricated beam, particularly of wood, comprises a pair of structures, Fig. 2 consisting of battens 11, 11a, and an arch-form batten 15 joined to a flush, as shown, or surface web 16 of plywood. The structures are joined by wedgeform battens 10, 10a and spacers 14 or by wide rectangular plywood spacers 20, Fig. 3, capping strips 12 completing the structure. In the Fig. 3 form, the batten 11 may also be arched and the outer side faces of the beam clad in hardboard.
