Abstract

875,874. Ventilation. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 7, 1959 [Oct. 8, 1958], No. 32124/58. Class 137 [Also in Group XIII] A dehumidifier comprises a tubular box 1 having internal partitions 2 each constituted by an assembly of thermojunctions which are electrically connected so as to provide by the Peltier effect hot and cold junctions on opposite sides of the assembly. Heat transfer fins 6 are attached to the thermojunctions and air passing through the duct on the cold side of the assembly is cooled so that moisture condenses on the fins; the air is then heated either by passing it along the hot side of the assembly or by mixing with air which has been heated by passing along the hot side of the assembly. The fins 6 are larger on the hot side of the assembly and may provide the electrical connections between the thermojunctions in which case they are insulated from each other.
