Abstract
875,088. Coated fabrics. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 8, 1960 [April 20, 1959], No. 13427/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 140. A method of preparing a mica folium comprises coating a woven glass cloth with a solution of a silicone resin, making the treated glass cloth travel continuously on a belt of solventresistant material to which the resin will not adhere, placing a layer of mica splittings on the resin-coated glass cloth, evaporating the solvent from the silicone resin by passage through a heated zone, and removing the mica folium sheet from the non-stick surface. The belt of solvent-resistant material may consist of glass cloth impregnated with polytetrafluoroethylene, or of glass cloth coated or impregnatedwith irradiated silicone rubber. The solvent may be toluene or acetone. Further coatings of resin may be applied, followed by more mica splittings, and heating.
