Abstract

A low hydrogen flux coating for electrodes for arc welding ferrous material comprises fluxing and deoxidizing material including basic material, i.e., slag-forming carbonates or fluorides, and at least 20% rutile material, i.e., oxides of titanium and zirconium silicate, the rutile material exceeding the basic material by at least 50%. The flux compositions are same as those described in Specification 871,141. Specifications 584,299 and 871,142 also are referred to.
