Class 123(1) A liquid-level indicating device, e.g. for mixing paint, comprises an arm 14 which is pivoted at 15 to the vertical panel 10 of a bridge piece resting across the top of a can 12 and has, at its free end, an index mask 17 which registers with a graduated arcuate scale 16 on the corresponding side of the panel 10 a vertically suspended index bar 24 being pivoted to the arm 14 by a pin 22 to hang down into the can 12 and indicate particular liquid levels. The arm 14, clampable in a particular position by a knurled nut 20 on a stud 19 projecting from the arm 14 through an arcuate slot 18, has a longitudinal slot 21 which slidingly receives the plain cylindrical portion of a shouldered part of the pin 22 and a recess 23 at each end for selective pivotal location of the pin 22. The screw-threaded end of the pin 22 has flats which slidingly engage the sides of a slot 25 in the index bar 24 which is clampable in its adjusted position by a knurled nut 26. Further pivot pin-receiving recesses may be provided in the lower edge of the slot 21. The index bar 24, having its foot nicked at 28, extends through a slot 27 in a horizontal flange 11 of the bridge piece, a G-clamp 13 being provided for attachment to the lip of the can.
