Abstract
870,442. Electrolysis. ROOD N.V., C. N. Jan. 21, 1960 [Jan. 23, 1959], No. 2284/60. Class 41. An apparatus for electrolytically manufaoturing matrices for phonograph records comprises a vessel 1 for the electrolyte 2, a holder 3 for a matrix 4 and an anode 6 both below the level 5 of the electrolyte, the holder 3 being secured to a shaft 7 which is rotatably supported above the level 5 and is so inclined relatively to the surface that the matrix 4 is only slightly more than half submerged and that its centre 10 lies nearer the plane of the anode 6 than the most deeply submerged point 11 on its circumference. The surface of the anode facing the matrix may be convex to augment the plating effect due to the inclined shaft 7, which is mounted in bearings 8, 9 on a lever 12 pivoted at 13 to the vessel 1.
